Giga Metals starts geophysics at Turnagain's Attic Zone, targeting copper, platinum and palladium adjacent to its nickel-cobalt resource. Results due fall 2026.
Giga Metals Corp. (TSX-V: GIGA; OTCQB: GIGGF; FSE: BRR2) has started a property-scale geophysical survey at its Turnagain Project in northern British Columbia, the company said Monday. The program targets the Attic Zone, a large area adjacent to the known nickel-cobalt resource that the company believes may host copper, platinum and palladium mineralization.
The work uses a combined magnetotelluric and electromagnetic approach, which CEO Scott Lendrum described as the next logical step for evaluating the system at depth. The Attic Zone is underexplored relative to the main nickel deposit, and the survey is designed to map conductive bodies that could indicate sulfide mineralization.
The program is fully funded and expected to take several weeks. Results will guide continued exploration into the fall of 2026.
Turnagain is one of the larger undeveloped sulfide nickel and cobalt resources globally. The project is held by Hard Creek Nickel, a joint venture between Giga Metals and Mitsubishi Corporation. A pre-feasibility study was released in October 2023. The ultramafic intrusive complex that hosts the nickel resource also shows potential for copper, platinum and palladium in the Attic Zone.
