FSSAI Suspends Rehaan Healthcare Licence Over Filth, 12% Compliance Score

Rehaan Healthcare must stop production until all deficiencies are corrected and the fixes are verified by a competent authority, the FSSAI said in a social media post Friday. The regulator warned it would initiate legal action if the company violates the suspension order.

Beyond the hygiene issues, the inspection found inadequate storage, insufficient workspace, poor ventilation and lighting, damaged infrastructure, pest infestation, and the absence of a valid drinking water test report. The FSSAI said the disorganised storage of raw materials and poor housekeeping created a serious risk of cross-contamination.

The crackdown is part of a broader push by the FSSAI over the past several months. It has taken action against energy drink and alcoholic beverage companies for misleading labels and claims, and has issued notices to e-commerce platforms. The agency said the actions stem from consumer complaints, suo-moto cognizance, and routine enforcement by food safety officers.
