Evonik Industries held its annual innovation press conference Tuesday from its new headquarters in Essen, presenting three new innovation cases that the company said were tested and proven.
Jörg Wagner, who led the event, opened by linking innovation to renewal. "Innovation, well, that actually means renewal, changes, and we've got a lot of new things to present today to you," he said. The broadcast was the first live transmission from Evonik's new headquarters.
Wagner said the innovations were new but also tested and proven. He then introduced Lauren Kjeldsen, the board member responsible for innovation. "Before going into the different innovation cases, we would like to take a broader look at the Evonik innovation situation," Wagner said. Kjeldsen called the new studio a first for the company.
Details of the three innovation cases were not disclosed during the opening remarks. The press conference included a Q&A session for accredited journalists, who could submit questions via a chat window.
The event comes as Evonik works to shift its product mix toward specialty chemicals with higher margins. The new headquarters is part of that broader corporate transformation.
Evonik shares trade on the OTC market under EVKIY.
