Emirates added Crypto.com Pay to its website and mobile app. The payment option is open to eligible UAE residents booking flights priced and settled in Emirati dirhams.
The integration expands payment choice for travelers who manage their finances and travel through smartphones, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, said.
“Bringing this initiative to life delivers on our commitment to expanding customer choice in how they pay for travel,” Kazim said.
The partnership was announced in July 2025. The speed of the rollout, from the agreement to a live product, reflected the UAE’s regulatory environment, Kazim said.
On the Emirates mobile app, customers are sent to the Crypto.com app to approve a payment from their wallet. After authorization they return to the Emirates App for the booking confirmation and ticket. Desktop users scan a QR code at checkout and approve the transaction through the Crypto.com app.
The payment infrastructure runs through Crypto.com’s Dubai entity, which the companies said was the first virtual asset service provider to receive a Stored Value Facilities license from the Central Bank of the UAE.
The Emirates integration was a milestone for the company’s payment product, Eric Anziani, Crypto.com’s president and chief operating officer, said. The partnership reflected the UAE’s approach to financial innovation, he added.
The launch supports the Dubai Cashless Strategy, part of the D33 Economic Agenda. The aim is to make 90% of transactions digital by the end of 2026. The integration places Crypto.com Pay inside the booking system of a carrier serving more than 140 destinations, adding a prominent use case to the broader crypto market analysis.
For Emirates, the addition provides another checkout option without replacing conventional cards. The service is currently limited to eligible UAE residents making bookings denominated and settled in Emirati dirhams. Emirates did not announce availability for international customers or foreign currencies.
The stored value license was the first granted to a virtual asset service provider by the Central Bank of the UAE.
