Eldorado Gold fed first ore through the Skouries crushing circuit. CEO George Burns said final site energization still depends on Greek power authority sign-off, but Q3 2026 concentrate remains the target.

Eldorado Gold hit a construction milestone at its Skouries copper-gold project in northern Greece, feeding first ore through the newly commissioned crushing circuit. The company said it remains on track to produce first copper-gold concentrate in the third quarter of 2026, with commercial production targeted for the fourth quarter.
Commissioning is now underway across the processing plant. Ore is being processed through the crusher, and the company expects to introduce material to the grinding and flotation circuits as those systems are progressively brought online. Full handover of the crushing circuit from the commissioning team to the operations team is in progress.
“Crushing first ore is an important milestone for Skouries,” CEO George Burns said in a statement. He cautioned that full integrated operation of the process plant still requires final site energization, which depends on inspection and sign-off by the Greek power authority. To maintain momentum, Eldorado has added supplemental generators to support commissioning readiness within the plant.
Skouries is one of the largest undeveloped copper-gold assets in Europe. Eldorado has spent years advancing the project through permitting, construction, and repeated cost revisions. The latest update suggests the company is past the most capital-intensive phase, though the final energization step remains an open variable before the plant can run at full capacity.
The stock traded around C$18.50 on the TSX Monday, roughly flat on the news. Eldorado also operates mines in Canada, Turkey, and Romania.
