Dokainish & Company's CEO Tarik Dokainish is in Jeddah with PM Carney, pushing Canadian project controls expertise into Saudi's $3.5B trade relationship and Vision 2030.
JEDDAH – Tarik Dokainish, CEO of Dokainish & Company, joined Prime Minister Mark Carney in Saudi Arabia this week for the Canada-Saudi Business and Investment Forum. The forum, hosted by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment and the Canadian embassy, is part of Carney's visit to the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia is Canada's second-largest trading partner in the Gulf, with bilateral trade hitting $3.5 billion in 2025.
Dokainish & Company exports Canadian expertise in integrated capital program delivery. It serves owners in energy and critical infrastructure. The firm operates in Saudi Arabia through a regional team led by Managing Director Esam El-Makkawy and a strategic partnership with SAUDCONSULT, the Kingdom's oldest engineering firm.
The alliance combines Dokainish's project controls and systems implementation expertise with SAUDCONSULT's 60 years of engineering leadership and a network of more than 2,800 professionals. Together, they offer full EPCM capability in Saudi Arabia: engineering, procurement, construction management, project controls, systems, and adoption.
Canadian project management and engineering firms are deepening their bet on Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program. The Kingdom is spending heavily on mega-projects in energy, infrastructure, and natural resources. Dokainish's presence alongside Carney is the latest example. The firm has supported two award-winning PMOs, including a PMI PMO of the Year for The Americas, on multi-billion-dollar programs delivered on schedule and on budget.
Large capital projects globally face delays, cost overruns, and poor visibility. Dokainish's model integrates project controls and system implementation into a single delivery model. The company says it has delivered billion-dollar projects ahead of schedule and built award-winning PMOs by optimizing the interplay between people, process, technology, and data.
Dokainish & Company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and a certified minority-owned business enterprise. It operates from offices in New York, Abu Dhabi, Toronto, and Calgary.
