Diablo Resources completes earthworks at Star Range, preps five-hole diamond drill program, and advances reconnaissance at Horn Silver in Utah.
Diablo Resources (ASX: DBO) is moving its Utah critical minerals projects forward, with earthworks complete at the North Star prospect in preparation for a five-hole diamond drill program. The holes, totaling roughly 1,000 meters, are designed to test the depth, continuity, and geometry of the mineralised breccia-vein system where surface sampling has returned silver grades up to 3,043 grams per tonne (g/t) and antimony up to 0.7%.
At the historic Horn Silver project, reconnaissance has started across the unpatented claims. Field teams are conducting geological mapping, regional sampling, and validation of historical workings. Diablo holds an 80% interest in 101 unpatented lode claims and has an exclusive option to acquire 101 patented claims, forming the full Horn Silver tenure package.
CEO Lyle Thorne said the company can advance fieldwork on the unpatented claims while the option exercise on the patented claims remains on schedule for completion in September. Horn Silver hosts multiple historical workings, including the Horn Silver mine, where roughly 17 million ounces of silver at an average grade of 604 g/t were extracted between the late 1800s and the 1950s.
“The completion of earthworks at Star Range and the progress made at Horn Silver mark important steps in advancing our district-scale critical minerals strategy in Utah,” Thorne said. “We now have drill-ready access at Star Range and a clear pathway to define our maiden drill program at Horn Silver as initial reconnaissance and data integration continue.”
The initial exploration phase at Horn Silver is designed to refine structural interpretations, confirm the distribution of mineralised zones, and support target ranking. Early observations point to widespread polymetallic mineralisation across multiple structural corridors, consistent with a district-scale carbonate-replacement system. The company is also reviewing historical datasets to rank near-mine extensions and regional prospects ahead of the planned maiden drill program.
DBO last traded at 1.8 Australian cents, giving the company a market cap of about A$9.1 million. The stock was steady before the open.
