Cresso Health added Slate Financial, a Southwest Medicare distributor, to expand its senior market reach and agent network, backed by Cypress Ridge Capital.
Cresso Health, a technology-enabled insurance sales platform, said it has partnered with Slate Financial, a Southwest distributor of Medicare and health insurance products. Terms were not disclosed.
The deal expands Cresso's field presence as it builds an omni-channel distribution platform for the senior market, the company said. Cresso is backed by Cypress Ridge Capital, a New York-based healthcare investor.
Colin Pickel and Stephen Rivera, founders of Slate, said in a statement that Cresso "shares Slate's commitment to putting the customer first." They will join the Cresso team. Slate will gain access to Cresso's carrier relationships, proprietary marketing tools, and lead-generation technology, the company said.
"We are pleased to welcome Colin, Stephen and the Slate team," said Frank Pistone, CEO of Cresso Health. He called the partnership a step toward "building an omni-channel, multi-product platform."
The deal is Cresso's latest step into Medicare distribution. The company's platform handles member acquisition and enrollment for individual health plans, working through a network of independent agents.
Slate has not disclosed its agent count or premium volume. Cresso did not provide a timeline for the integration or targets for new enrollment gains.
