Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have called it quits after more than a decade together, according to a Daily Mail report. The Friends star and the Snow Patrol musician met in late 2013 at a house party Cox hosted. They got engaged nine months later.
Friends of the couple told the Daily Mail the split was amicable and that the two had simply grown apart. Cox lives in Los Angeles. McDaid, who is from Northern Ireland, has been based mostly in London. They used to split time between the U.S. and the U.K.
“They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives,” one friend said. “This was not an ugly split.”
Neither Cox nor McDaid has publicly confirmed the separation.
The news comes as no surprise to those close to the pair, who had seen them drifting apart in recent months. Friends described their relationship as “very deep” and said they remain great friends.
