Connecticut animal control officers responded to two separate pig sightings Tuesday, capturing one and still searching for the other.
June 10 (UPI) -- Connecticut animal control officers had two pig problems on their hands Tuesday, after residents reported two separate pigs wandering loose in Woodbridge.
Woodbridge Regional Animal Control said the first call came in at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday. A resident on Old Quarry Road reported a pig in their yard.
A second call followed, this time from Acorn Hill Road. That pig had been seen wandering the area for at least two days, the department said.
"These two roaming complaints are different pigs," the department wrote on social media.
Officers worked with animal control personnel from Naugatuck and Prospect, along with a local veterinarian, to capture one of the pigs. They could not find the second one.
The captured pig was taken to the Woodbridge Regional Animal Control Department. Residents near Acorn Hill Road and Old Quarry Road are being asked to watch for the second swine and report any sightings.
Police said they are trying to identify the owner or owners of the loose animals.
