Commerzbank AG (CRZBY), a German commercial bank, on Thursday opened its second-quarter earnings call with a record result for the first half of 2026. 'We again achieved record results in an especially demanding environment,' Chief Executive Bettina Orlopp said.
Orlopp called the first half of 'a truly remarkable year' for the bank. The credit, she said, went 'first and foremost to our clients and our people.' The results showed 'the fundamental resilience of our business model and the focused execution of our team,' she said, thanking clients for their 'continued partnership and unwavering trust.'
CFO Carsten Schmitt presented alongside her. The call began at 9 a.m. Frankfurt time, or 3 a.m. EDT. The operator told participants the call was being transmitted and recorded by audio webcast and would be available for replay online.
The prepared remarks did not include net income or capital ratios.
