
Cauldron Energy mapped a previously unknown arm of the Manyingee South palaeochannel, widening the uranium target inventory at its Yanrey project in WA.

Cauldron Energy has mapped a previously unknown and untested arm of the Manyingee South palaeochannel through passive seismic surveying at its Yanrey uranium project in Western Australia, the company said.
The upstream extension is roughly one kilometre wide and runs for at least three kilometres, splitting into three branches. A separate tributary extends 2km southwest from the deposit's high-grade zone, continuing beyond the current mineral resource estimate boundary into a broad lagoon measuring about 2km by 2.5km. That area becomes a priority for follow-up exploration.
The survey covered 29 lines totalling 153.3km. It adds to the target inventory around Yanrey's three deposits, which hold a combined 55.6 million pounds of uranium oxide.
Cauldron uses airborne electromagnetic surveys to identify buried palaeovalleys, then passive seismic work to define channel margins, smaller tributaries, and bedrock geometry ahead of air-core drilling. The latest interpretations mapped the eastern arm of Manyingee South and extended the main channel upstream, confirming a large western tributary that drilling during 2025 had suggested but not established.
CEO Jonathan Fisher called the results a positive sign. "The overall results indicate that the palaeochannel system at Yanrey is prolific and far larger and more complex than originally understood," he said.
"With 20+ additional palaeochannels yet to be tested, and passive seismic surveying continuing to define more palaeochannels, confidence is high that the extent of uranium mineralisation at Yanrey will continue to grow significantly with further drilling."
At Ashburton East, five survey lines covering 28.3km indicate an offshoot of the main Manyingee palaeochannel enters a broad lagoon before passing through a steeply incised gorge less than 700m wide. The restricted embayment sits in a setting similar to the Bennet Well East deposit, and Cauldron considers it another high-priority target.
At Cosgrove, eight lines over 48.5km defined a separate palaeochannel roughly 1.5km wide and 3.5km long, with exploration drilling indicating a maximum depth to bedrock of 125m. Scout drilling has hit mineralisation in three of five holes across 1.2km at Cosgrove, supporting further work within a network where all five palaeochannel systems tested to date have been mineralised.
Cauldron is also drilling at Manyingee North and expects to begin testing additional targets as the exploration program continues through August and September. The company estimates passive seismic has covered only about 20% of Yanrey, while more than 20 additional palaeochannels remain untested.
The Yanrey project covers roughly 1,493km² south of Onslow through 21 granted exploration tenements and five licence applications across more than 80km of interpreted Early Cretaceous coastline.
The results indicate the Yanrey system is one of the more significant undeveloped uranium projects in Australia, the company said. The discovery adds to a growing picture of Western Australia's uranium potential, a sector that has seen renewed interest with rising global nuclear power demand.
Cauldron plans a second Aboriginal heritage clearance during the September quarter of 2026 as part of preparations for follow-up work.
