Caspin Resources flags a strong new tin anomaly near Kelpie at Bygoo, with drilling underway at Moss and a September resource estimate scheduled.
Caspin Resources (ASX:CPN) has identified new growth potential from regional exploration activities across the Bygoo tin project in NSW, with early results revealing several highly prospective targets alongside ongoing resource extension drilling at the Kelpie deposit.
Managing Director Greg Miles said the work in parallel with the Kelpie drilling demonstrates the breadth of discovery opportunities across the project. "Recent high-grade results from the Kelpie deposit have demonstrated a clear pathway to resource growth with an updated resource estimate already scheduled for September," Mr Miles said.
The Moss prospect is the most direct analogue to Kelpie, with a new soil anomaly of similar magnitude located only 500 metres along strike. Infill sampling has also emphasised a second tin anomaly, 500 metres north of Kelpie, associated with a cross-fault structure. The company said this anomaly is stronger than the initial one that defined the Moss prospect.
Adjacent to the Ardlethan mine, the company has recognised extensive alteration halos it expects around a breccia or greisen-style tin deposit. Mr Miles said the company has completed the most comprehensive exploration program in the area since the early 1980s.
The company is using soil geochemistry and induced polarisation surveys, with gravity data layered in to identify fault structures, a combination that works where surface mineralisation indicators are absent.
"We're excited by these new targets," Mr Miles said. Drilling is underway at the Moss prospect and is likely to be followed by similar activities at the Ardlethan South and East prospects later in the year. He also cited the recent Errol's discovery as showing the potential for new tin discoveries in the vicinity of Kelpie.
CPN traded steady at 13.5 cents per share prior to market open, giving the company a market capitalisation of $38.33 million.
An updated resource estimate for the Kelpie deposit is scheduled for September.
