Carver Aviation trainer crashes at Baramati; both occupants rescued

A trainer aircraft operated by Carver Aviation crashed near the Baramati airstrip in Maharashtra's Pune district on Sunday, police said. Both occupants on board were rescued with minor injuries.

The aircraft, registration VT-SEX, went down around 12:30 pm. A senior police official said the cause is under investigation. "We are investigating whether the aircraft developed a technical snag or if there were any other technical problems. It is too early to comment on anything," the official told PTI.

No casualties have been reported.

The crash comes seven months after a Learjet 45 operated by VSR Ventures crashed at the same airstrip while attempting to land. That crash killed five, including then Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. A police investigation into that incident continues.
