Bobby Moynihan felt 'Hollywood romantic' about new 'Minions' movie

He said he was nervous about joining the franchise. The creative team made it easy. "Once I realized the people that are there know exactly what they want and they guide you in the right direction, I just got to do a fun, weird character," he said.

Moynihan said he wished Coffin used his Minions voice in the studio. "I think I would have exploded," he said. He called Coffin a creative person he's "really lucky" to work with. "We're a James and a Henry," he said, referring to two Minion characters.

Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges and Jesse Eisenberg round out the voice cast. Moynihan said meeting Bridges was a treat. He said within the first five minutes of the movie, there's a nod to "Airplane!" with an airplane tied in a knot. "I was like: My God, that was Jeff Bridges' dad in Airplane! Now, we're in a movie together," he said. "It's just very nuts. I felt very Hollywood romantic while watching it."
