Binance added message pinning and spam controls to its in-app chat feature, refining the social layer it launched in April 2026 as part of its super-app push.
Binance pushed an update to its in-app chat feature, adding message pinning, better sharing tools, and tighter spam controls. The changes hit the platform this week, the exchange said.
The pinning tool lets users anchor key messages in group or private chats. The spam controls refine what the exchange called a smoother, less cluttered experience. Sharing and connection capabilities also got a boost.
Binance Chat launched April 15, 2026, as an attempt to weave social interaction directly into crypto trading. Users connect through unique chat IDs, join private or group conversations, and share trade cards or transfer crypto without leaving the app. The feature is part of Binance's push to become a 'super app' that blends financial services with social engagement.
A Creator Beta phase and private chat functionality rolled out in May 2026, the exchange said at the time. Those updates aimed at deeper community interactions. Binance also runs 'Word of the Day' events that reward participants with BNB tokens.
The latest update does not add new reward mechanics or change the chat's core structure. It refines existing tools. Message pinning is a common feature in messaging apps but new for Binance's ecosystem. The spam controls address a complaint that surfaced in user forums after the initial launch.
Binance has not said whether the chat feature will expand to include voice or video calls, or whether it plans to open the system to third-party developers. For now, the focus is on cleaning up the user experience inside the existing text-based framework.
