AXA XL, the P&C specialty risk division of AXA, will buy the remaining shares of S-RM, a consultancy that provides crisis response and cyber security services.
AXA XL, the property and casualty specialty risk division of AXA, has agreed to buy the remaining shares of S-RM, a corporate intelligence and cyber security consultancy. The division already holds roughly 49% of S-RM.
The deal is expected to close by the end of September, subject to regulatory approvals. S-RM, founded in 2005, works with global businesses and investors across 140 countries, offering crisis response, geopolitical intelligence, cyber risk assessment, and due diligence services.
Scott Gunter, CEO of AXA XL, said the acquisition “marks an important step in the buildout of AXA XL Risk Advisory and in our continued efforts to go beyond traditional insurance coverage.” He added that clients want “data-driven insights and expert guidance to help them anticipate emerging threats, mitigate risk, and respond quickly when events occur.”
S-RM will continue to operate as part of AXA XL Risk Advisory, a newly created prevention-focused unit. Libby Benet, CEO of that unit, said the combination will bring together S-RM’s geopolitical intelligence and crisis response expertise with the AXA Digital Commercial Platform’s technology-enabled solutions. “We will be able to help clients build deeper resilience across a wider spectrum of risks,” she said.
Heyrick Bond Gunning, CEO of S-RM, noted that the two firms have worked together for over 15 years. “This transaction will allow us to continue investing in our prevention services for existing clients, while expanding the reach of those capabilities,” he said.
