Avanti's flagship asset is the Misisi Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project holds the Akyanga gold deposit, which has an inferred mineral resource of 40.8 million tonnes at 2.37 grams of gold per tonne, for 3.1 million ounces of contained gold, according to a NI 43-101 compliant estimate. The resource extends from surface to a depth of 350 metres over a strike length of about 2,100 metres, using a $1,500 per ounce pit shell. The company said the mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike.
The Misisi Project covers three contiguous 30-year mining leases spanning 133 square kilometres along the Kibara Gold Belt, a known gold-producing region. The site is in South Kivu province, roughly 250 kilometres south of Bukavu and 180 kilometres north of Kalemie.
The resource estimate was based on 19,956 metres of historic drilling, including 105 diamond drill holes and six reverse circulation holes.
Avanti is a gold exploration company with a portfolio of projects in Africa. The conference presentation is scheduled for Aug. 6.
