August Restaurant Deals: Back to School, Beer Day, Filet Mignon

August brings a wave of restaurant promotions tied to back-to-school season, food holidays, and summer wind-downs. Golden Corral is offering kids ages 4–12 a buffet and drink for $2.50 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Aug. 30 with the purchase of an adult buffet. Children 3 and under eat free.

Tocaya and Tender Greens both run Kids Eat Free deals after 4 p.m. with an adult entree purchase. Tocaya’s runs Aug. 12–31; Tender Greens starts Aug. 10.

National Sandwich Month brings happy hour specials at Eddie Merlot’s and Sullivan’s Steakhouse. Eddie Merlot’s offers sandwiches from $10 to $25 Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., including filet mignon sliders. Sullivan’s runs similar deals from 3 to 6 p.m. with Angus sliders and other options.

National Filet Mignon Day gets a month-long push at both Eddie Merlot’s and Sullivan’s. Each offers an 8-ounce filet with a glass of wine for $63 from Aug. 3 to 31, available in the bar, lounge, or dining room.

International Beer Day on Aug. 7 brings $5 draft pints and $6 Blue Moon tall boys at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar. Moxies runs a happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. with $6 local craft beers. Dog Haus promotes its rotating tap selection alongside its usual menu.
