Asharq Bloomberg Starts Broadcasting From New Riyadh Studios

Asharq Network started broadcasting from its new studios in Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) on Monday. The move puts the financial news broadcaster inside the city's main business hub, where the Saudi Exchange, major banks, and asset managers are headquartered.

The KAFD location gives Asharq Bloomberg direct proximity to the institutions it covers. The district is home to the Capital Market Authority, Tadawul's trading floor, and the regional offices of global investment banks. For a financial news operation, that means shorter lines to sources and faster access to market-moving information.

The new studios replace the network's previous Riyadh facility. Asharq Bloomberg, a joint venture between Asharq News and Bloomberg Media, has been expanding its regional coverage as Saudi Arabia's capital markets deepen. The Saudi Exchange has listed more than a dozen companies in the past two years, and foreign ownership of Tadawul-listed stocks has climbed to 4.87% of market capitalization.

Broadcasting from KAFD also aligns with the district's push to become a regional financial center. The Saudi government has been encouraging international firms to set up regional headquarters in the kingdom, and KAFD is the designated hub for that effort. Asharq Bloomberg's presence there reinforces the district's role as a media and finance node.

The network did not disclose the size of the investment or the number of staff moving to the new location. Asharq Bloomberg continues to operate from its Dubai Media City studio as well, maintaining a dual-hub structure for coverage across the Gulf.
