Anthropic Gains Browser, Bernanke as AI Oversight Grows

On July 9, Ben Bernanke joined Anthropic's Long-Term Benefit Trust. The LTBT holds no equity but appoints board members and monitors mission alignment. Bernanke, a 2022 Nobel laureate and former Federal Reserve Chair, will focus on economic research and AI's macroeconomic impact, Anthropic said. He joins Neil Buddy Shah, Richard Fontaine, and Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar on the trust.

The browser feature removes the context switch between editor and external docs. A Flutter developer can point Claude at a pub.dev package URL and have it reference API docs while writing Dart code. Share a Figma link and Claude reads the design before generating widgets. The feature is available in the desktop app.

Anthropic also launched Claude Corps, a national fellowship placing 1,000 early-career professionals at nonprofits for one year. Fellows earn $85,000 annually. The first cohort of about 100 starts October 19. Applications close July 17. The initial investment is $150 million, Anthropic said.
