Andhra Pradesh logs 12 Covid cases, four deaths in three-week stretch

The Andhra Pradesh Health Department registered 12 Covid-19 cases between June 26 and July 16, 2026. Four of the patients died. The department said they were already under treatment for chronic conditions when they tested positive.
Cases turned up in four districts and were not clustered, the department said in a Thursday update. Officials saw no reason for a public alert.
Across India, 339 Covid cases were logged from July 1. Kerala reported 115. Karnataka had 64, Maharashtra 43, Tamil Nadu 39, and Delhi 18. The remaining cases were scattered across other states.
The zero-sum for Andhra's health infrastructure is thin. KGH in Visakhapatnam still has a dedicated Covid isolation ward on standby. No surge has arrived to fill it.
