Amazon Deal: Up to 50% Off for Amex Blue Cash Cardholders

Amazon extended a targeted promotion for American Express Blue Cash cardholders through Dec. 31, 2026. The deal offers up to 50% off select purchases, capped at $80 in discounts, when the cardholder uses $3 in Reward Dollars at checkout.

The offer applies to cards that earn cashback as Reward Dollars, including the Blue Cash Everyday, Blue Cash Preferred, Blue Cash for Business, and Cash Magnet. It is separate from a similar promotion for Membership Rewards-earning Amex cards that has run repeatedly.

To check eligibility, cardholders should link their Blue Cash card to their Amazon account as a payment method, then look for the discount at checkout or in the “Shop with Points” section. The promotion can be used in a single transaction or split across multiple smaller purchases.

Readers on travel-and-points forums report the deal works on third-party gift cards – for example, restaurant or retail gift cards sold on Amazon – but not on Amazon gift cards themselves. The blog post that flagged the extension noted the earlier version in November 2025 required only $1 in Reward Dollars and appeared to work on gift cards for some users. The current version requires $3 and may block gift cards entirely.

This is the second extension of the offer, first seen in late 2025. Amex has not formally announced the deal; it appears on a targeted basis for Blue Cash cardholders who have linked their card to Amazon.
