AirBoss of America Corp. (TSX: BOS) (OTCQX: ABSSF) said KPMG resigned as its auditor at the company's request, effective Aug. 18. The board appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers to fill the vacancy, the rubber and defense-products maker said Wednesday.
The audit committee recommended the change, and the board approved it. AirBoss said it will file the notice of auditor change, along with the required letters from KPMG and PwC, on SEDAR+.
Auditor switches at small-cap companies can signal accounting disagreements or fee disputes, though the company did not cite a specific reason for KPMG's departure. AirBoss said only that it had requested the resignation.
The Newmarket, Ontario-based company operates two divisions. AirBoss Rubber Solutions custom-compounds rubber with 500 million turn pounds of annual capacity. AirBoss Manufactured Products supplies anti-vibration parts and molded rubber to North American automakers, and through its AirBoss Defense unit sells respirators and protective gear to military, medical and first-responder buyers.
AirBoss shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange and on the OTCQX in the U.S.
