MANILA, Philippines. Ai-Ai delas Alas told supporters she is unaffected by former husband Gerald Sibayan’s recent wedding, saying she had expected him to remarry after their separation.
The comedian addressed the issue in a statement shared on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" after host Boy Abunda reached out following the circulation of Sibayan’s wedding photos online.
Delas Alas said she had anticipated the marriage. "We all knew that would happen. I expected that when he left me," she said. "He needs to stay in America, so he needs to get married. I just hope he doesn't do to someone else what he did to me."
After their separation, delas Alas pulled her immigration petition for Sibayan, leading U.S. immigration authorities to revoke the petition’s approval.
She added a joke about Sibayan’s attire in the wedding photos. "Let's just leave him alone. At least, he was wearing a suit, not just a polo shirt," she said.
