Rock sampling at ActivEX's North Queensland project returned 221g/t silver and 14.4g/t gold, setting up 2026-27 drilling at Comet and Tambo-Mountain Creek.
ActivEX (ASX:AIV) has identified high-grade gold and silver targets across its Georgetown Project in North Queensland, with surface rock sampling returning up to 14.4 g/t gold and 221 g/t silver.
The company collected 39 rock samples from outcrops and historic mine dumps across the Cleanskin Creek, Leichardt Creek, Stockman and Bridle Creek tenements. The standout result came from the Comet Prospect at Bridle Creek, where 14.4 g/t gold and 150 g/t silver were returned from a zone with historic workings extending about one kilometre and shafts reaching roughly 25 metres depth.
At the Tambo-Mountain Creek Prospect within Leichardt Creek, sampling returned 221 g/t silver and 5.81 g/t gold. ActivEX interpreted the prospect as having significant aerial extent beneath transported quartz sand cover.
Assays at Stockman Prospect returned 7.32 g/t gold and 30.9 g/t silver; Cleanskin Creek came back at 5.29 g/t gold and 59.59 g/t silver. Elevated lead and zinc values accompanied both results.
Managing Director Mark Derriman said the latest program was designed to test as many historic workings as possible across the project. "The results identify the Comet and Comet West prospects at Bridle Creek and the Tambo-Mountain Creek prospects at Leichardt Creek as the most extensive and compelling areas for follow-up," he said.
Derriman said transported quartz sand masks much of the prospective geology at Leichardt Creek, which makes ground geophysics an important tool for refining drill targets.
ActivEX said the results have defined priority targets for follow-up soil sampling, geological mapping, ground geophysical surveys and reverse circulation drilling as part of its 2026-27 exploration campaign. Planned work also includes targeted mapping and rock sampling at the Forsayth tenement before high-priority geochemical and geophysical targets move to drilling.
