Peel Waters and Qualis Developments break ground on 90 apartments at Wirral Waters. The scheme includes solar panels and EV charging, following earlier phases at Miller's Quay. Occupation is set for early 2028.
Peel Waters and Qualis Developments have broken ground on a 90-apartment residential scheme at Wirral Waters in Birkenhead. The development received approval from Wirral Council earlier in 2026. It will deliver 84 one-bedroom and six three-bedroom apartments across six four-storey buildings.
Energy-efficient features include solar panels and EV charging points. Secure cycle storage is part of the plan. Landscaped communal gardens and new tree planting will connect the site directly to the waterfront promenade.
The construction start follows the completion of Miller’s Quay and the first phase of Redbridge Quay. Forshaw Group is the contractor for this phase. The partnership has focused on building homes on challenging brownfield sites.
Wirral Waters is a long-term regeneration project on Merseyside. The masterplan includes thousands of homes along with office and retail space. The new apartments target renters attracted to the waterside location, a short commute from Liverpool city centre.
No completion date has been announced. The developers said the first apartments should be ready for occupation in early 2028, assuming no material supply-chain delays.
