8th Pay Commission opens online data portal for salary and pension submissions. Deadline June 30, 2026. Affects 50 lakh central govt employees and 65 lakh pensioners.
The 8th Pay Commission has opened its online data portal for data submissions from interested parties. Submissions must go through the commission’s dedicated website at data.8cpc.gov.in. Logging in with an email and captcha is required to register before uploading data.
The commission said on its website that “physical data / stand above excel sheets / hard copies / emails, etc. shall not be considered.” It set June 30, 2026 as the last date for submission. The earlier deadline for suggestions and memoranda closed June 15, 2026 – the second extension after deadlines on April 30 and May 31.
Who is affected
The commission’s decisions will impact nearly 50 lakh central government employees – including defence personnel – and roughly 65 lakh retired central government pensioners. Other stakeholders include officers of the All India Services, Defence Forces, Union Territories, the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, regulatory bodies (excluding the RBI), Supreme Court and High Court officers in UTs, and employee unions or associations.
What the commission will decide
The 8th CPC began stakeholder meetings in April and has more scheduled in June and July. It will gather input from labour groups, ministries, pension bodies, employee unions, and similar groups. After analysing the data, the commission will propose allowances, pension formulas, and salary structures.
Timeline and process
Constituted on November 3, 2025, the panel is expected to submit final recommendations about 18 months later – February 2027 at the earliest. Based on past pay commission cycles, full rollout of those recommendations typically takes another two to three years. That would mean salary and pension hikes announced in 2027 might not be fully implemented until 2029 or 2030.
The commission’s website notes: “The 8th Central Pay Commission has extensive data requirements. Links / formats seeking data are being shared with Ministries / Departments / Organizations / Offices separately.” The data portal link is https://8cpc.gov.in/8cpc-online-data-portal/.
