The 2026 winners out of 290 nominations focused on culture and compliance to retain staff in a selective job market, the award body said.
Seventy-five Indonesian companies received HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2026 awards on June 5, the organisers said. The winners, selected from 290 nominations, were recognised for keeping staff in a tightening labor market where workers have more choices.
The Indonesian job market has become more selective. Productivity demands are rising. Traditional hierarchies no longer hold people. The winning firms shifted to human-centric work environments, the award body said. They offered tailored learning programs, from short digital modules to executive coaching, alongside wellness initiatives and flexible hybrid models.
A new Premium Category debuted this year: the HR Asia People Transformation Awards. It singles out companies that put learning at the center of their people strategy. The award honours firms investing heavily in upskilling and reskilling, ensuring employees have the skills for future economic and technological shifts.
Datuk William Ng, Chairman of the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards, said the talent market is evolving fast and old methods no longer work.
"This year's 75 winning companies have demonstrated exceptional agility by placing employee well-being and continuous development at the forefront of their strategies. Through the HR Asia programme, these organisations have gained the insights needed to pivot effectively, proving that a culture of empathy and active learning is the true driver of sustainable business success."
The award programme covers 15 markets across Asia, including mainland China, India, Japan, Singapore, and the UAE. Business Media International, a subsidiary of Audience Analytics Limited (1AZ.SG), runs the awards. The company also publishes SME Magazine, HR Asia, and Capital Asia, and operates the Total Engagement Assessment Model software.
The full list of winners is available on the HR Asia website.
