More than 300,000 small businesses in the United Kingdom are selling through TikTok Shop, the platform said Wednesday. The number of new sellers joining has jumped 200% year over year, though TikTok did not disclose the total seller count across all business sizes.
TikTok brought its shopping feature to the UK at the end of 2021. Early interest from British shoppers was tepid enough that the platform put broader European expansion on hold. By 2024, that picture had flipped: revenues from TikTok Shop in the UK rose 180%.
At the close of 2024, the company said more than 200,000 businesses were active on the platform. To reach smaller merchants, TikTok launched a Shop Local program in the UK last year. Five winners each received £150,000 in support.
