Zondacrypto collapse leaves founder missing, CEO abroad

The exchange's website went offline April 23. The company-linked token ZND lost nearly all its value. No active trading pairs are recorded.

The disappearance and the ownership of customer funds remain central questions. Kral told Reuters before the shutdown that the exchange controlled more than 4,500 Bitcoin and that Suszek retained access to a wallet holding those coins. Recoveris, a recovery firm, found that visible hot-wallet Bitcoin declined from 55.7 BTC in August 2024 to 0.18 BTC in March 2026. Bitcoin (BTC) profile shows the token's price history.

The case has entered Poland's regulatory debate. The country's parliament is considering competing crypto bills covering enforcement powers and custody controls. The outcome could shape implementation of the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework.

Polish prosecutors have not filed charges against Kral. His location has not been independently confirmed by authorities.
