Indian exchange WazirX launched an AI trading assistant on Tuesday, one that wraps market research, portfolio monitoring, and order execution into a single chat window. The tool, called WazirX AI, is live on the exchange's app and website.
Users type a question about Bitcoin's price, a macro headline, or their own positions. The AI returns analysis with charts, then lets them approve a trade without leaving the conversation. An "Ask-Understand-Decide" model coordinates the underlying data feeds, according to a company statement.
"Crypto markets operate 24/7, but traders should not have to spend their day moving between charts, news feeds and trading screens," said Nischal Shetty, founder of WazirX. The AI reduces the time to evaluate an opportunity and act on it, he said.
Before a trade is placed, the assistant pulls the user's live portfolio and suggests a position size based on stored risk preferences. Proposed orders come up as an approval card showing entry price, leverage, margin, stop-loss, take-profit, and estimated loss. The tool handles spot and futures trades, market and limit orders, and short positions.
Users can also set natural-language alerts. Tell the assistant to notify you when Bitcoin breaks a certain support level, and it watches the condition and pings you when triggered, WazirX said.
For complex analysis, the workflow can collapse what traditionally takes hours into under 10 minutes. A user might ask the assistant to screen INR futures for four-hour momentum, filter by a risk-reward threshold, validate the shortlist across timeframes, and prepare an order. The AI handles all that in a single request.
The company also launched a paper-trading sandbox with a simulated $100,000 balance. Users can test strategies and walk through the research-to-trade flow before committing real money.
WazirX AI is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The exchange, founded in 2018, offers rupee-based access to crypto through spot and perpetual futures markets. It is registered as a Reporting Entity with India's Financial Intelligence Unit, the company said.
The move puts WazirX alongside a growing number of exchanges that are wrapping AI around their order books. The pitch is the same: fewer tabs, faster decisions. Whether traders trust the AI enough to let it size their positions will be the actual test.
