Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto leads the Tangere senatorial survey with 42.1%, up 6.1 points, as Duterte family members and allies hold the top tier for 2028.
Alpha Score of 39 reflects weak overall profile with weak momentum, poor value, weak quality, weak sentiment.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto emerged as the top choice in the latest Tangere senatorial preference survey, while the strong showing of Duterte family members and allied candidates underscored the continuing strength of the political brand ahead of the 2028 elections.
Sotto garnered 42.1 percent voter preference in the Aug. 12-15 survey, up 6.1 percentage points from the previous Tangere survey, putting him at the top of the 75-candidate field.
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte ranked second with 37 percent, followed closely by Sen. Raffy Tulfo with 36.5 percent and Sen. Robin Padilla with 36 percent.
Former senator Grace Poe rounded out the top five with 35.8 percent. The survey placed Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano sixth with 32.3 percent, followed by Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte with 31.6 percent.
Former vice president and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno tied at 30.8 percent, while broadcaster Ben Tulfo ranked 10th with 28.7 percent.
Former senator Manny Pacquiao was 11th with 28 percent, while human rights lawyer and Akbayan congressman Chel Diokno climbed to 12th with 25.1 percent, a five-percentage-point increase. Sen. Chiz Escudero followed with 24.3 percent.
The latest results showed a strong presence of the Duterte family, with brothers Sebastian and Paolo both landing in the upper tier. Sebastian's 37 percent preference represented a 2.7-percentage-point increase, according to Tangere. Paolo, meanwhile, posted 31.6 percent.
Padilla, a political ally of the Duterte family, also remained among the leading candidates with 36 percent.
Tangere founder and CEO Martin Peñaflor attributed the continued strength of Duterte-backed candidates to the family's established voter base and populist appeal.
The survey also showed uneven performance among incumbent senators. Former Senate president pro tempore Loren Legarda ranked 15th with 20.6 percent, putting her outside the so-called "Magic 12."
Tangere said Legarda's decline may be linked to reactions to her recent political realignments and changing coalition affiliations.
Sen. JV Ejercito ranked 30th with 11.5 percent, while Sen. Mark Villar was 33rd with 9.6 percent. Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, meanwhile, fell into the lower portion of the rankings amid public attention on his legal and graft-related cases, according to Tangere.
Tulfo's 36.5 percent placed him fourth, ahead of Robredo's 30.8 percent. Tangere said Tulfo's broad media exposure gave him a wide reach among voters, while Robredo continues to draw support from an established base built from previous national elections.
The 5.7-percentage-point gap between the two reflects the continuing challenge for candidates with strongly identified political bases to expand their support beyond traditional constituencies, the polling firm said.
Several candidates also posted gains in the latest survey. Diokno moved into the 12th spot after gaining five percentage points.
Francis Tolentino was ranked 20th with 16.7 percent, with Tangere attributing his rise in part to his appointment as Department of Labor and Employment secretary. Social media personality Dr. Richard Mata ranked 22nd with 15.1 percent. Jimmy Bondoc posted 18.13 percent, up from 17.63 percent, according to Tangere.
Zia Alonto Adiong, meanwhile, moved from 50th place in an earlier ranking to the 30th-35th range, which Tangere said reflected growing regional name recognition and increased national exposure.
The noncommissioned survey was conducted Aug. 12-15 among 2,400 respondents using a mobile-based respondent application. Tangere said the survey used stratified random sampling with quota-based sampling and had a margin of error of plus or minus 1.96 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
The sample was distributed across the country, with 12 percent from the National Capital Region, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from the Visayas and 23 percent from Mindanao.
