Temasek sold a 2.05% stake in Lenskart for nearly ₹1,934 Cr, joining other early backers cashing out as institutional demand keeps the stock near highs.
Temasek's wholly owned subsidiary MacRitchie Investments sold a 2.05% stake in Lenskart for nearly ₹1,934 Cr, according to a regulatory filing. The sale, executed in multiple open-market tranches, reduces Temasek's holding to 4.71% from 6.75%.
The largest single tranche, 72.69 lakh shares, was sold on July 10 at a closing price of ₹543.30, worth about ₹394.9 Cr. Shares of Lenskart touched an all-time high of ₹562.70 on July 9 and have risen 22% year to date.
Temasek joins a wave of early investors cashing out after the shareholder lock-in expired. Since May, KKR, Alpha Wave, SoftBank, ADIA and TR Capital have collectively sold shares worth more than ₹10,000 Cr through block and bulk deals, exchange data showed. KKR, which also sold Lenskart shares, carries an Alpha Score of 43, a mixed label, according to AlphaScala data. KKR stock page
Despite the steady supply, institutional demand has absorbed the stock. Domestic mutual funds have been consistent buyers, and global investors such as BlackRock and Bank of America increased their Lenskart exposure in the June quarter, according to recent fund filings.
The investor interest is tied to Lenskart's revenue growth. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, operating revenue rose 46% year over year to ₹2,515.7 Cr. Net profit, however, fell 7.5% to ₹203.6 Cr.
The risk of further secondary supply remains. With Temasek still holding 4.71% and other investors potentially selling, the stock's ability to hold near its all-time high will depend on continued institutional buying. The stock traded at ₹535.10 on Friday, down 0.64% from the previous close. stock market analysis
