Redstone Resources (RDS) is drilling magnetic targets near BHP's Nebo-Babel in West Musgrave, aiming to expand the Tollu copper resource. Alpha Score 75 for BHP.
Redstone Resources (ASX: RDS) is testing magnetic and structural targets at its West Musgrave copper project in Western Australia, with reverse-circulation drilling planned near the existing Tollu deposit to expand the maiden resource.
The Perth-based explorer holds a 100% interest in the project, located about 40km east of BHP's large Nebo-Babel nickel-copper deposit. BHP's Alpha Score is 75, classified as Strong in AlphaScala's proprietary scoring.
Redstone said the drilling will target deeper structural extensions of the Tollu mineralisation, which already carries a JORC resource. The company is also evaluating geophysical anomalies across its broader West Musgrave tenure for copper and nickel sulphide systems.
The program is supported by a Western Australian state exploration grant. Redstone has additional early-stage projects in Canada and Western Australia, but the core focus remains the West Musgrave copper project.
Copper demand continues to be driven by electrification and clean-energy infrastructure, putting pressure on explorers to find new sources. The proximity to BHP's Nebo-Babel deposit – one of Australia's largest undeveloped nickel-copper discoveries – gives the project a strategic footing in the same geological belt.
Redstone's next milestone is the completion of the RC drilling program, with results expected in the coming months.
