The $15B MoU between PIF and the U.S. Export-Import Bank targets strategic investments in advanced tech, aerospace, and infrastructure. PIF has spent $65B on U.S. procurement since 2017.
Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Export-Import Bank of the United States that creates a framework for up to $15 billion in long-term financing. The money supports PIF portfolio companies buying American goods and services.
The MoU builds on PIF's existing partnerships with export credit agencies in other priority markets. The fund's capital-raising strategy draws on diverse funding sources and a range of financial instruments.
The U.S. is PIF's top international market. Since 2017, PIF and its portfolio companies have spent $65 billion on U.S. procurement, contributing an estimated $35 billion to American GDP, according to the fund.
The two sides plan to explore opportunities in advanced technology, aerospace, infrastructure, future mobility, water security, and minerals tied to advanced manufacturing. They aim to strengthen supply chains and push digital and industrial innovation.
Rasees AlSaud, Head of Financial Institutions and Investor Relations, Global Capital Finance, at PIF, said the partnership would deepen cooperation in strategic sectors and create new opportunities for Saudi and American companies. "The MoU builds on PIF's strong partnerships with a wide group of leading global financial institutions," he said.
John Jovanovic, President and Chairman of EXIM, said the agreement advances the bank's "Buy American, Build the Future" framework by fostering American innovation in critical sectors. "As a frontline economic tool, EXIM helps drive American innovation onto the global stage while revitalizing manufacturing here at home," he said.
Sarah Whitten, EXIM's Chief Commercial Officer, said the bank is committed to strengthening resilient supply chains and expanding opportunities for American exporters in industries shaping the future global economy. "This agreement reflects our shared focus on strategic sectors from advanced technologies to critical infrastructure while supporting U.S. businesses, workers, and innovation," she said.
