LBank rolled out a security initiative built around deeper cooperation with blockchain auditing firm CertiK, the exchange said Monday. The Crypto Resilience Initiative includes penetration testing, participation in CertiK’s bug bounty program, and what LBank described as a more proactive approach to identifying risks in smart contracts and cross-chain systems.
The move comes as exchanges face a rising number of sophisticated attacks. CertiK reported earlier this year that crypto hacks fell 47% in the first half of 2026 but the number of incidents doubled, suggesting that smaller, more targeted breaches are becoming more common. Physical attacks against crypto investors, known as wrench attacks, also reached 52 incidents in the first half, according to a separate CertiK report.
Eric He, Community Angel Officer and Risk Control Advisor at LBank, said in a statement that security in Web3 increasingly depends on collaboration. Protecting users requires both strong internal controls and active cooperation with specialized security partners, he said, making the initiative a natural extension of LBank’s long-term strategy.
LBank already operates a multi-layered security framework that includes cold wallet custody, multi-signature authorization, behavioral analytics, and AI-assisted risk detection. The new initiative adds external technical evaluations and broader industry coordination to those existing measures.
The exchange, which said it has surpassed 25 million registered users across more than 210 countries, has been expanding its product lineup. In July, LBank launched a prediction market for event trading, allowing users to trade around outcomes of real-world events.
CertiK is one of the largest blockchain security firms by market share, counting exchanges and protocols among its clients. The company’s partnership with LBank dates back several years, and the latest initiative formalizes a deeper integration of CertiK’s testing services into LBank’s security workflows.
LBank plans to continue expanding the initiative with CertiK, focusing on practices that strengthen resilience across the broader digital asset ecosystem. Both companies expect the collaboration to support higher security standards as adoption accelerates.
The Crypto Resilience Initiative is the latest in a series of exchange-led security efforts. Bybit recently added tokenized equities from Meta and Tesla, while Mastercard tested single-audit stablecoin compliance with Borderless.xyz. Those moves highlight the industry's push to bridge traditional finance and crypto security norms.
