Kraken zero balance bug hits Instant Buy on mobile app

Kraken users opening the exchange's mobile app on July 28 saw their EUR balance display as zero for the Instant Buy feature. The exchange confirmed the issue on its status page at 11:58 UTC, labeling it "Issues with EUR balance for Instant Buy on Kraken App."

Kraken said actual funds are unaffected. The bug is a front-end display problem isolated to the mobile app. When users navigate to the Instant Buy screen, their EUR balance reads €0 even though their account holdings remain intact. The Instant Buy feature still works through the Kraken website. Non-EUR assets and other trading functionalities across the platform are running normally. There are no reports of broader outages, no security breaches, and no indication the issue extends beyond this specific EUR display in the app's Instant Buy interface.

Kraken has not disclosed a root cause or provided a timeline for a fix, suggesting the investigation is still early. A separate incident involving Conflux (CFX) and GMX (GMX) on the FIX/WS API was reported on July 22, but Kraken confirmed the two issues are unrelated.
