Iran's Qalibaf Signals Military Readiness, Strait of Hormuz in Focus

Iran's parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said the country must always be ready to fight and stand to the end to safeguard national security and interests. The comments, reported by state media, widen the divide between Tehran and Washington.

Qalibaf emphasized military readiness and control of the Strait of Hormuz. He signaled that diplomacy remains possible but only from a position of strength. The remarks come as the United States and Iran remain at odds over nuclear negotiations.
