Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions signed a letter of intent Monday that would let brokerage clients offer crypto event contracts through Gemini Titan. Apex's Futures Commission Merchant would distribute the contracts, with Gemini handling trade execution and clearing. The companies said the arrangement could eliminate the need for brokers to build direct connections to a prediction market exchange.
Crypto event contracts would be exclusive to Gemini under the deal. The two firms could also collaborate on contracts tied to sports, economic indicators, and financial markets on a non-exclusive basis. Final terms are expected in the coming weeks.
Gemini entered the prediction market sector in December 2025 after Gemini Titan received a Designated Contract Market license from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Its clearing capabilities expanded in April 2026, when Gemini Olympus obtained a Derivatives Clearing Organization license, allowing Gemini to manage settlement internally. By the second quarter of 2026, more than 225 million event contracts had traded through Titan, with over 27,000 cumulative traders.
“We believe that predictions are the future of markets,” Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said.
The partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Gemini launched commission-free stock trading for select U.S. customers in July, with Apex Clearing Corporation acting as custodian and clearing broker.
Apex Global Head of Digital Markets Travis McGhee said the plan gives brokerage clients regulated access to crypto event contracts without requiring them to build the underlying infrastructure themselves. “This partnership would give brokerage clients regulated access to crypto event contracts without requiring them to build the underlying infrastructure themselves,” he said.
The agreement remains a letter of intent and will take effect only after Gemini and Apex finalize its terms.
