FURIA's 3-0 Record Sparks Polymarket Activity

FURIA Esports swept the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 group stage with three straight wins. The Brazilian team advanced directly to the playoffs for the first time since the Rio 2022 Major.

Polymarket, the prediction market platform running on USDC over Polygon, listed several of FURIA's group-stage match contracts. Trading volumes on those bets reached hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to Polymarket data. The platform has expanded its esports offerings in 2025, adding more Counter-Strike lines as the Major approached.

FURIA's current lineup includes Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, a decorated Major winner from earlier eras, and Latvian rifler YEKINDAR. The team signed Danil “molodoy” Golubenko, a Kazakh AWPer, in April 2025. Molodoy posted strong ratings in the group stage, helping secure the 3-0 run without a series loss.

The organization's prior crypto tie ended badly. In 2022, FURIA signed a $3.2 million sponsorship with FTX, the largest deal in Brazilian esports at the time. FTX filed for bankruptcy in November 2022, and the contract terminated. The episode left FURIA without a major crypto sponsor, though the team has since rebuilt its roster and performance.

Now Polymarket offers a different kind of crypto connection. Traders can buy and sell outcomes for each match, settling on-chain. Esports prediction contracts can face thin liquidity outside peak match windows, a risk participants absorb when positions are larger than a few thousand dollars. For FURIA's playoff run, volumes have remained elevated compared with regular-season lines.

FURIA will play its first playoff match Friday. Polymarket has already opened contracts for that fixture, with early volume suggesting continued interest from the prediction market crowd.
