OpenPayd is the first UK payments provider on Fireblocks' network, giving 2,400+ businesses fiat rails in GBP, EUR, and USD across 100+ countries.
OpenPayd became the first UK and European-focused payments provider to go live on the Fireblocks Network for Payments. The integration, which went live July 23, connects Fireblocks' institutional crypto infrastructure to OpenPayd's fiat payment rails.
More than 2,400 businesses already using the Fireblocks Network can now route payments in GBP, EUR, and USD across more than 100 countries without building separate banking relationships in each jurisdiction, the companies said.
Fireblocks has processed over $14 trillion in transactions to date. OpenPayd handles more than $280 billion in annual volume.
OpenPayd offers embedded finance solutions, virtual IBANs, multi-currency accounts, and foreign exchange capabilities through a single API, according to the company. It is regulated under both UK and EEA electronic money institution licenses and serves more than 1,200 clients.
Before this integration, the Fireblocks Network for Payments lacked a dedicated UK and European payments provider. Fireblocks launched its payments-specific infrastructure in September 2025 to handle stablecoin-related payment flows.
For stablecoin markets, the practical utility depends on how easily tokens convert into fiat through traditional banking channels. Making that conversion seamless for 2,400 businesses at once increases the demand for stablecoins as a settlement layer, the companies said.
OpenPayd's dual regulation under UK and EEA frameworks provides some buffer as both jurisdictions update their crypto rules. The UK's ongoing fintech regulatory reviews and the EU's MiCA implementation could reshape how crypto-to-fiat integrations function, the companies noted.
Michael Treacy, business development lead at OpenPayd, said joining the Fireblocks Network helps simplify the global payments system for companies operating at the intersection of crypto and traditional payments.
