EQT AB on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Stockbridge, a U.S. real estate investment manager, and said it had closed the Coller Capital transaction during the third quarter. Fundraising momentum, deal flow and value creation "remains strong," Olof Svensson, head of shareholder relations, said on the earnings call.

The Coller deal vaulted EQT to third place among global private markets firms, according to the PEI ranking published last week. "We are, by a distance, the largest non-U.S. firm, and we're the only firm in the top 20 without a private credit platform," CEO Per Franzén said.

Franzén described EQT as a "performance-focused, trusted, reliable and strategic partner for investors" and said the breadth of the platform lets it deliver "unique opportunities and differentiated solutions." He pointed to the AI infrastructure fund as an example of that reach.

The Stockbridge acquisition adds a U.S. real estate platform, broadening EQT's geographic and asset-class footprint. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Franzén said the lack of a private credit arm sets EQT apart from peers such as Blackstone and KKR, which have built large credit businesses. The firm manages assets across private equity, real estate, infrastructure and natural capital.

EQT will report full-year results in January.
