Three stocks led Wednesday's HotCopper trends, each driven by a distinct catalyst. DXN (ASX:DXN) jumped 28.9% to 16.8¢ after winning a $1.2 million contract from the Solomon Islands Submarine Cable Company. The deal covers the design and installation of a cable landing station for the Adamasia Cable System-1, a government-funded project backed by the Australian government. Managing director Shalini Lagrutta called it a strategically important infrastructure project. “The award reinforces DXN’s recognised capability in delivering modular cable landing station infrastructure and critical telecommunications facilities throughout Australia and the Pacific,” she said.
CSL (ASX:CSL) rose 6.92% to $127.79 after revealing plans for a clinical trial of immunoglobulin made with its Horizon 2 process. That patented technology boosts immunoglobulin yield from the same plasma volume. CSL expects clinical work to start in mid-2027, using material from its Broadmeadows facility. The trial will run in parallel with an expansion of the company's Kankakee, Illinois plant.
Caspin Resources (ASX:CPN) climbed 19.1% to 12.5¢ after reporting high-grade tin from the Kelpie deposit extension at the Bygoo project in New South Wales. The drilling hit the newly discovered Errol's Zone, outside the existing resource of 3.94 million tonnes at 0.50% tin containing 19,300 tonnes of tin. Managing director Greg Miles described the results as stunning. “BRC061 included the highest individual metre grades ever drilled at the Kelpie Deposit, coming on the back of Caspin’s best-ever drill intersection in BRC05,” he said. “Given that tin is approximately four times the value of copper, these are fantastic results which demonstrate that the Kelpie Deposit, as currently defined, has significant growth potential.” An updated resource estimate is due in the September quarter.
The ASX 200 gained 1.19% to 9,053.90, with the three stocks adding to the day's positive tone.
