DeFiLlama Launches Token Ratings, Uniswap First to Get AAA

DeFiLlama's Universal Token Ratings score 128 assets from 0 to 100, with Uniswap alone at AAA. Grades update continuously from on-chain data.
DeFiLlama launched a universal token ratings dashboard on Thursday, built with advisory firm Forgd, assigning 128 crypto assets a single score from 0 to 100 and a grade from AAA to CCC. Uniswap was the only protocol to receive an AAA at launch.
"Our new Universal Token Ratings dashboard is live: the industry's first continuously updated token rating standard, built with @Forgd_ ," DeFiLlama said in a post on X on Aug. 26. "100+ tokens now carry a single 0-100 score and AAA-CCC grade, live on DeFiLlama."
The tool, called Universal Token Ratings (UTR), folds nearly 40 evaluation parameters into one metric. The model assesses liquidity depth, volume-to-market-cap ratio, bid-ask spreads, emission schedules and disclosure transparency from each issuing team, according to DeFiLlama and Forgd. The numerical score maps to a hierarchical letter scale, similar to the grades used by traditional credit rating agencies.
Unlike periodic audits, the dashboard refreshes continuously, drawing on on-chain performance and secondary market behavior. Meteora and Curve DAO opened in the AA tier. PancakeSwap and Olympus started in the CCC range; Collector Crypt also began there. Assets that debut through token generation events receive provisional ratings during their initial trading weeks, the developers said.
The launch gives the decentralized finance sector a consolidated rating standard that didn't exist before. DeFiLlama data put total value locked across protocols at over $89.3 billion in the past 24 hours.
DeFiLlama and Forgd said they will add new assets over the next quarter and enable founding teams to directly update governance and emissions reports. The partners said standardizing criteria reduces fragmentation of technical data across blockchains.
