Datavault AI fell 5.6% after unveiling a $1B tokenization plan for Available Infrastructure's Project Qestrel edge network. The $QEST token will grant GPU access across 1,000 facilities. First sites target 2026.
Shares of Datavault AI Inc. (DVLT) closed regular trading at $0.3658, down 5.62%. The stock recovered 2.00% in pre-market activity to $0.3731. The decline came as the company announced plans to tokenize Available Infrastructure's Project Qestrel, a network of edge computing facilities the firms value at over $1 billion once fully implemented.
Datavault AI said it will generate $QEST tokens representing access and usage rights for the infrastructure, using its Information Data Exchange platform and proprietary tokenization methods. The company will handle token generation, marketplace transactions, and settlement through its Data Vault infrastructure. Revenue from the program will be split evenly between Datavault AI and Available Infrastructure.
Project Qestrel targets 1,000 private edge computing facilities across 100 metropolitan areas and more than 30 states, representing roughly $5 billion in total capital investment. The first sites are scheduled to go live before the end of 2026. Each facility will run zero-trust security architecture, quantum-resistant encryption, and support up to 48 GPUs for AI workloads, with low-latency edge computation at telecom sites with existing fiber and electrical infrastructure.
Datavault AI already uses Available Infrastructure's network for real-time data evaluation, tokenization, and revenue generation, serving installations in the New York metro area and Philadelphia. Both companies are expanding the footprint nationally.
Available Infrastructure said many facilities will run IBM watsonx, while others will support alternative AI frameworks. The rollout includes a partnership with Crown Castle to speed up infrastructure deployment. About 30 metropolitan areas are expected to be operational in the first phase.
The $QEST token ecosystem will give holders reserved GPU computing power across the Project Qestrel network and access to cybersecure facilities built for mission-critical AI deployments. Datavault AI's DataScore and DataValue solutions will enable real-time data assessment at network endpoints. The system includes Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering protocols, institutional-grade custody, and secondary marketplace trading after the initial distribution. The first token release is targeted for Q3 2026.
Datavault AI's Alpha Score sits at 40/100, labeled Mixed, in the Technology sector. Crown Castle, a partner in the rollout, carries an Alpha Score of 25/100, labeled Weak, in Real Estate.
Both companies described the venture as the first large-scale tokenization of an operational nationwide edge AI infrastructure deployment, combining physical infrastructure access with digital asset liquidity.
