Daiki Axis Invests Rs 200 Crore in Third India Plant for Water Treatment

Japan's Daiki Axis is investing Rs 200 crore to build a third manufacturing facility in Tumakuru, Karnataka. The plant will produce decentralized wastewater treatment systems using the company's proprietary Johkasou technology, a biological filtration method common in Japan.

Daiki Axis already operates two factories in India. The new facility supports the government's 'Make in India' programme and its push for urban infrastructure that reduces dependence on freshwater sources. The company aims to cut import reliance for these systems by boosting local production.

The investment signals rising demand for decentralized water recycling in India's industrial and municipal sectors. Daiki Axis's Johkasou units treat sewage on-site, bypassing the need for centralized sewer networks, a model that fits fast-growing cities where piped infrastructure is still thin.
