A Crypto.com user has been locked out of his exchange account for over a week with no explanation, highlighting customer-support and custody risks on centralized platforms.

A Crypto.com exchange user has been unable to access his account or withdraw funds for more than a week, the latest in a string of similar complaints that raise questions about centralized exchange custody and support responsiveness.
Bradley Peak received a "Successful Login" email from Crypto.com Exchange on August 13 after his credentials were accepted. He could not enter the platform, and browser traffic showed a "401 Unauthorized" response, he said. Peak, who had used the exchange for several years, said the problem started after he moved funds using a deposit method he had used before. He received no suspension notice, document request, or explanation.
Customer support gave conflicting information. One representative told Peak his Exchange account had been "rejected" without saying what that meant or when it happened. Another agent later said no Exchange account was linked to his email, even though previous Crypto.com messages had confirmed the account and successful logins, Peak said. The issue was escalated several times, but support offered no timeline for a fix.
Crypto.com declined to discuss the individual account, citing regulatory and legal obligations. The company said it may restrict accounts while conducting customer activity reviews and that its support team would keep communicating with the affected user. It did not confirm whether Peak's account was under such a review or provide a deadline for releasing his funds.
After BeInCrypto asked about the case, Crypto.com requested an external wallet address from Peak to return the assets. The transfer had not happened as of August 21, Peak said.
Similar complaints have appeared on Crypto.com's public Reddit forum during 2026: blocked withdrawals, unauthorized login errors, lengthy support escalations. These anonymous reports have not been independently verified and do not show how common such problems are.
Crypto.com is registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority under money-laundering rules for certain crypto activities. That registration does not give customers the same protections that broader financial authorization regimes provide.
As of August 21, Peak still could not access his funds and had received neither a firm resolution date nor an account-specific explanation.
