Marion Thornberry Censured After Guilty Plea in Church Theft

BOONE COUNTY, Ill. — Boone County Board Member Marion Thornberry has pleaded guilty to attempted theft of funds from a local church and was subsequently censured by the county board. The guilty plea was entered in court, admitting to the attempted theft. Following the plea, the Boone County Board took formal disciplinary action, voting to censure Thornberry. The censure was delivered during a board meeting, with video of the proceedings available. Thornberry remains a seated board member following the censure.
