Bitwise pulled in $1.8B through H1 2026 as yield-bearing products like staking and vaults attracted capital, while its non-yield BITW ETF lost 34% of assets.
Bitwise pulled in more than $1.8 billion in net inflows during the first half of 2026, a figure that CEO Hunter Horsley disclosed on Sunday. Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee called the performance "outstanding" in a social media post.
The inflows did not come from investors betting on a crypto price rally. Three of the four product categories that each drew more than $100 million offered some form of yield, Horsley said. Those categories included ETFs and ETPs, private strategies, staking products and vaults.
Bitwise's vault, launched with onchain lending protocol Morpho in January, targets an annual yield of around 6% on stablecoins. The firm's tokenized Crypto Carry Fund had reached $259 million in assets by late May while generating a 4% yield. Staking also drove demand. Bitwise's Solana staking fund surpassed $500 million 18 days after its November listing, showing appetite for products that combine digital asset exposure with income, Horsley said.
The picture was different for Bitwise's 10 Crypto Index ETF (BITW). The fund does not generate yield. It holds a basket of major cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin and Ethereum representing roughly 91% of its portfolio. Net assets dropped 34% from $1.03 billion at the end of December to $678 million by March 31. The share price fell 24%, and investors redeemed about 2.25 million shares, or roughly 13% of the fund.
Bitwise cut BITW's management fee from 2.50% to 0.75% when it moved to NYSE Arca in December. The fund had gained 94.8% in 2024. The 2026 decline came as the broader crypto market struggled.
Bitwise also reduced its workforce in August, cutting staff from roughly 180 to 155 employees. The $1.8 billion inflow figure and the simultaneous BITW outflow show a split in investor demand: yield-bearing products attracted capital, while the non-yield ETF lost assets.
